Mascot manufactures heavy-duty mowers patterned after the old Scotts Silent Reel Mowers that were considered one of the best reel mowers ever made. The Amish who still maintain the self-sufficient lifestyle from the 1900s depend on the old-fashioned quality products made during that era.
Mascot models are available in 18” or 20” sizes and come standard with 9” heavy-duty steel wheels and rubber tires. A 10” tire upgrade is also available for taller grasses.
Six riveted tempered unique spiral heat-treated blades mounted in a 12-gauge steel frame and supported by heavy-duty bearings, brackets, and rollers. These mowers are built tough to use for decades to come. In fact, Mascot is so confident in their mowers that they carry a 5-Year limited warranty.
Like many vintage products, as the demand transitioned to power mowers manufactures stopped producing reel mowers. Those manufactures that continued to build them started using lower quality cheaper parts such as plastics to satisfy the discount store craze and Wall Street profits. As the old-time vintage products began to disappear for the Amish to purchase, they began to manufacture their own for use in the Amish communities across the country.
Mascot mowers are still imported assembled under strict Amish specifications to maintain the quality and durability for long term ownership. The Amish simply don’t subscribe to planned obsolescence’s or model changes to force purchasing something new every few years. Your Mascot mower will likely be one that can be passed down to the next generation. We’re proud to bring these mowers to you!
We also offer complete replacement parts to keep your mower going. Mascot also has a sharpening kit for tune-up using a lapping compound. For extensive sharpening you will need a professional sharpening service. We can also arrange for you to send your mower to the Mascot shop in Indiana for sharpening and tune-up during the off season.
